DENVER - Since 2009, the Colorado General Assembly has authorized the transfer of nearly $422 million into the state's general fund, drastically reducing the funds available for water infrastructure. The state of Colorado also recently saw the suspension certain energy assistance impact grants, which provided close to $100 million for drinking and wastewater projects from 2007 to 2010.
The Colorado Supreme Court has set a date (9 November 2011) to hear oral arguments in the case of eleven challenges to the constitutionality (filed predominantly by affected county governments) of the state legislative district maps filed by the Colorado Reapportionment Commission in early October for constitutional review by the Colorado Supreme Court (yes, these challenges… “go to eleven”).
U.S. Rep. Cory Gardner will be at the fifth annual Colorado Mission of Mercy (COMOM). The COMOM event is a two-day free dental clinic at Brush High School where Representative Gardner will be volunteering this Saturday. The clinic will be held from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and no appointments will be accepted.
